My grandmother died from breast cancer that had spread to her bones
when my father was only thirteen. The horrible pain she suffered
and the wounds my father carries from watching her die affected
my family in a number of ways. My father never talked about his
mother, except that she was like an angel. As an adult, when I
asked him and other family members, the story of her death came
together.
At about the same time that I was hearing this story, my best
friend was diagnosed. She did the lumpectomy and radiation that
are common protocol. Less than two years later, she was facing
a reoccurrence. I had done enough research at that point to know
that her life was very much in danger.
At that point, I was looking for ANYTHING that I could do to
help. I learned about essiac tea and coffee enemas and every
alternative therapy you could imagine. Anyone who has faced cancer
will understand the barrage of information about which I am talking.
At this point i have worked with hundreds of women around breast issues. I practice massage, specializing in lymphatic massage. I have a MS in Holistic Nurtition from Clayton College of Natural Health. I'm a geek in that I read as much as possible about the subjectof breast health, breast cancer, nutrition, complementary therapies, detoxification studies etc, so that this project can continue to help other women.
